How to be the best maid of honor ever

So you want to be the best maid of honour ever?
Before and on the day there are a few things you will need to do such as view a venue or help choose invitations and just all together be there. There are a few tips you might forget, but don't fear I have listed them below.

Before the day

Many brides will start to panic that they haven’t made the right decisions. for example ‘have I got the right dress?’ and ‘will my guests like the venue?’ just make sure she knows its perfect and calm her down, its her day doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.
The bride will always appreciate you making space in your diary for her a lot goes in to planning a wedding and the bride has chosen you to help. If you can't even make it to a dress fitting that has been planned around you it doesn't look great. If you can’t make it, be apologetic and try not to give the bride the impression that her big day doesn't matter to you. because it does! well at least I hope so.

Traditionally the bride should pay for the bridesmaids dresses but If you know your bride is struggling with money, offer to pay for a part of your outfit, such as the dress, shoes or accessories. Even if she insists on paying for everything.

The bride will want you to be honest with her, if she asks
you opinion
on something tell her the truth, just maybe try not to make it harsh, for example if you don't like the bridesmaid dresses let her down easy.

On the day

If the bride is anything like me she may have a list of things that need to be done on the day, just small things that will need to be checked or done for example making sure the photographer turns up on time.
You might need to assist the bride in to her dress and help with hair and makeup, not just before the wedding she might need help touching up her makeup after the ceremony if there has been tears.
help the bride with her veil and train (if she has one). I have seen many weddings where brides have tripped on their train.
If the bride has a big dress on, she may be restricted in what she can do herself and this is where you can step in and help!

Make a
toast or a speech during the wedding party since it is tradition and most people love hearing these friendship stories!
I will be asking my maid of honour to do little bits like make sure people are signing the guest book.

It's not a lot to do but I promise you it will have the bride thanking you the day after! good luck and enjoy your day!
